About the Course

The BSB61015 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management will build on your existing management skills, knowledge, and assist in boosting your career prospects and create an approach to high level management roles with greater knowledge.
The program is targeted to students who apply specialised knowledge and skills, together with experience in leadership and management, across a range of enterprise and industry contexts. Individuals at this level use initiative and judgement to plan and implement a range of leadership and management functions, with accountability for personal and team outcomes within broad parameters. They use cognitive and communication skills to identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources and transfer their knowledge to others, and creative or conceptual skills to express ideas and perspectives or respond to complex problems.

Duration of program
79 weeks (67 tuition weeks and up to 12 weeks of holidays), Classes are 20 hours a week for 67 weeks. Orientation is held in week 1
Learning and assessment
79 weeks (67 tuition weeks and up to 12 weeks of holidays) is broken into time for training, learning and assessment activities. This includes:
  • Homework /self-directed learning of approximately 11 hours per week.  Homework tasks are monitored, and student will be expected to complete these to ensure they can progress
  • Classes are approximately 10 hours for the first week and 20 hours per week for 66 weeks
  • Up to 12 weeks holidays
Selection Requirement
This course is available to domestics students who can provide evidence that they:
  • have completed year 12 or equivalent
  • are over the age of 18
  • have at least three years of experience in a senior role OR have a diploma level qualification in Business, Marketing or Leadership and Management or other relevant diploma level qualification
  • Applicants must attend a selection interview as part of the enrolment process. This interview will be held face to face in the campus for local domestic other video conference for students who can’t attend due to distance.
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN)
Applicants must also:
    • Complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment to demonstrate that they have the required level of LLN skills required by the course.
    • The LLN test will be conducted by a suitable Trainer and Assessor
    • Achieve a satisfactory result before enrolling in the course.
    • The LLN assessment includes a written test and interview to complete the verbal component of the test. For all students applying within Australia the test will be completed during an interview at Yorke’s city campus.
    • The LLN test assists Yorke Institute to assess whether or not students’ LLN skills are at a level suited to the course requirements. It also assists our trainers to prepare individual learning plans for each successful applicant where skill weaknesses are identified. Yorke will work with successful applicants to ensure their skills are at the required level by the completion of their training.
