Yorke Institute is the only provider offering training in a commercial Dental laboratory
We have partnered with one of Victoria’s leading dental laboratory to offer a unique form of training for the Dental Technology course. The partnership with a premier commercial dental laboratory enables you to be trained by some of the most experienced and skilled technicians in the industry. All practical training will be conducted in our commercial dental laboratory, not a classroom.
Work experience
Our dental students will be provided with work experience opportunities to conduct commercial work at the dental laboratory.
Our students who have progressed to a satisfactory academic and skill level will be placed on a work experience rotation at the dental laboratory. They will work side by side with experienced and skilled technicians and dental prosthesis on various commercial tasks. They will learn commercial practices through the use of current and advanced technology.
Train in a World Class Dental Laboratory
The dental laboratory possesses every piece of equipment expected of a world-class laboratory including the most advanced CAD-CAM facility in the Southern Hemisphere. Complete with a separate scanning and milling room, the laboratory has two of the most technologically advanced Milling machines by Wieland Zeno and iMES that operate round the clock.
The dental laboratory is a pioneer in 3Shape Trios Intra-Oral Scanner. With Intra-oral scanning, impressions taken by dentists can be sent via email instead of courier the old fashion way. The dental laboratory’s state-of-the-art milling machines are used to design and manufacture Crowns whilst the models are printed by a 3D printer. Qualified CAD-CAM technicians operate these machines to produce accurate and high-quality work in real commercial environment which you get to watch.
Train on Cutting-edge Digital Technology
As part of the program you will learn how to use EXOCAD software, which is a CAD software to produce crown and bridge, chrome casting and splints works.
