On behalf of Yorke Institute, we are proud to present the Professional Year in Engineering Program ‘Speakers Circuit’, a unique opportunity for students in the program to learn from a hand-picked group of exceptional industry leaders. These highly-qualified speakers have been chosen for their decades of multi-disciplinary professional experience and standing in the engineering community.

By joining our Speakers Circuit, these industry leaders will provide Yorke Institute’s Professional Year students with an exceptional level of instruction and impart their current knowledge of the industry, including illustrative case studies and best practices. This is a fantastic opportunity for engineering graduates to learn directly from highly experienced industry experts, grow their professional network, and to improve their professional skills. We believe the knowledge and insight gained by this diverse experience will empower our Professional Year students to build robust and rewarding careers in Australia.

About the Professional Year Program

The Professional Year in Engineering Program provides rigorous theoretical training as well as a mandatory work placement to bridge the gap between study and employment.
It was developed in order to prepare international engineering graduates with the skills and experience they need to compete in the Australian market. But the most significant feature of this work readiness course is that it is run by engineers for engineers.

Additionally, the program is approved and endorsed by the professional body Engineering Education Australia (EEA) as well as the Department of Home Affairs (DHA), ensuring that the accreditation gained in this year of study is professionally and nationally recognised.

Access to these industry-leading instructors and their wealth of experience is what sets the Yorke Institute’s Professional Year Program in Engineering apart from any other: in order to be the best, you have to learn from the best.

Students will be able to field questions to our experts relating to job and employability skills, technical knowledge, in-demand skill sets, working life in Australia, and many other areas. This high level of innovative professional education is unique to Yorke and is only one of the very few places where this type of specific focus is possible. Also, students will be able to apply the knowledge they have gained from the speakers circuit and their coursework when they put it to use in the workplace during the internship portion of the program.
