Create positive change with a Certificate IV in Disability
Do you have a passion for creating positive change and uplifting those around you? Thinking of a new, meaningful role where you can make a difference in your community? Well, we have some good news. Starting in January, you can study disability services at Yorke Institute in 2021 with our new Certificate IV in Disability CHC 43115.
As a sector that is forecast to continue growing for the foreseeable future, caring and supporting people with disabilities has never been a more rewarding or important role within our community.
Our Certificate IV in Disability CHC 43115 is a qualification that equips students with the skills and understanding they need to effectively assist people with disabilities, both physical and mental.
Here at the Yorke Institute, we train our future healthcare and support service professionals so that they are job-ready upon completion and given the foundations they need should they choose to proceed with higher education at university.
We pride ourselves on offering an equitable learning environment and educational experience that allows students to be confident, compassionate and skilled members of the workforce.
Our ongoing commitment to the VET training has fostered strong industry relationships across the community health, government, aged care and disability sectors in Victoria.
This means our students receive high-quality, on-the-job training and real life work experience to help them achieve excellent educational outcomes and solid job prospects upon completion.
The course takes approximately 6 months to complete and involves both theory and practical learning. Students understanding is then tested via supervised training and relevant assessment tasks.
The course is delivered as a blend of online and face-to-face classes for flexible learning amidst the new ‘COVID normal’ and is delivered by our expert VET trainers and support staff across three campuses: Melbourne, Casey and Wyndham.
The Certificate IV in Disability CHC 43115 course is a step forward in opening the door to a challenging and rewarding career in conducting individual assessments and providing support services to people in the following areas:
- living in their own home (NDIS)
- residential group homes
- aged care facilities
- day-support organisations
- community-based programs
Pathways can also lead to opportunities in aged care, healthcare and community services.
